Mmishkenot Sha’ananim
The historic Mishkenot Sha’ananim neighborhood is located in front of the Old City Wall and the Tower of David, down above the Sultan’s Blessing,
And a short distance of a few minutes walk from the Orient Hotel Jerusalem.
The neighborhood, founded in 1860, and was the first neighborhood established outside the walls, was built on the initiative of Minister Moshe Montefiore,
Who built a flour mill over the neighborhood that later became a symbol of the neighborhood.
The mill operated for about 25 years and then was shut down, underwent various incarnations, restored and renovated –
And a plot serves as a place for an exhibition on Montefiore’s life and work.
The special topography of the neighborhood created a beautiful urban texture – Jerusalem houses, lush vegetation, stairs climbing up the hill, with the most beautiful view in the world from every corner – the walls of the Old City and the Tower of David.
Every hour of the day has its own magic, and we recommend hotel guests to wander the neighborhood alleys
And perfume the stunning sights and beauty treasured in every corner.
